Disturbing or fascinating? The specimen before you is the Lion of Gundavore, a horrific undead being that appears part Lion and part Megatherium, a long extinct elephant-sized sloth. This cursed creature is “just one of a menagerie of mythical and unreal beasts that populate the Museum of the Mad, the Macabre, and the Marvelous”.

This collection of cryptic, multiple hybrid creatures from the outer reaches of known civilization and the human psyche is like something out of a geneticist’s nightmare. Oddly enough though, CD Richardson, the Frankenstein-esque creator of these bizarre beasts, is keen to preserve their misplaced or misperceived beauty.
