Experts Restoring A Historic Home Found Two 400-Year-Old Notes Hidden Beneath The Floorboards

Deep in the English countryside, a team of volunteers are busy exploring the nooks and crannies of a manor house that’s stood for centuries. Then, beneath the floorboards of a dusty attic room, something wonderful comes to light: a perfectly preserved glimpse into life in the 17th century.

And the story of the property dates back to 1445, when construction began on a manor house in Sevenoaks, England. Then, around 11 years later, the Archbishops of Canterbury took over and transformed the home into a fine medieval-style palace – the first of many developments that would see the building grow into the impressive estate that it is today.
