It took a lot of hard work to complete the masterpiece, with Emma putting in 17-hour days over an intense five-day period. Behind the scenes, the artist snapped more than 750 photos, and she had to re-do her face for each one.
The creative talent then posted the unique video to Vimeo, where she aptly described it as “an animated self-portrait exploring the idea of rebirth and illustrating the transfer of energy from one incarnation to another.”
Emma’s own face is the sole canvas for her art, and there were no high-tech production techniques involved. In fact, the only tools Emma used were a camera, some body paints and a mirror. The video begins by showing the artist’s pretty freckle-covered features. And then, before our eyes, she begins to age rapidly.
