18. Proboscis Monkey
Swinging from the trees – and swimming in the waters – of Borneo is this big-nosed, pot-bellied primate. The male proboscis monkey honks his particularly large hooter to entice the ladies and scare off adversaries.

17. Saiga Antelope
The saiga antelope’s flappy snout purifies the air in the dusty summers of Russia and Kazakhstan while also warming the animal in the winter. Sadly, 50 percent of the population of saigas suddenly – and mysteriously – died in May 2015.

The “Dumbo” – scientific name: Grimpoteuthis – is an octopus genus whose unique feature earned it its Disney nickname. However, while those appendages may look like ears, they’re actually flippers used in the creature’s unique way of getting about the oceans it inhabits.
