All Morrow had time to do was transfer his smallest animals on to the highest ground available. He left them a whole sack of feed to keep them sustained for however long they remained stranded. He told the Daily Mail, “All I could do was move them… give a hug and kiss and say a prayer for my beloved animals.”
As he was leaving, Morrow took one last heartbreaking look at his livestock. His horses and donkeys were already up to their knees in the floodwater. And, judging by the dire weather forecast, the situation was only going to get worse for them. But Morrow had to make his move. With a heavy heart, the teacher drove his distraught family away.
