When nobody turned up to By’s new donut shop in March 2019, his son Billy decided to take action.
Regardless of the preparation and excitement beforehand, not all grand openings go according to plan. Billy By could certainly attest to that, as his dad’s new donut shop failed to attract many customers in March 2019. However, everything changed when the business owner’s son took to social media later that day.
Back in February 1981 Satharith By left his home country of Cambodia to live in the United States. The refugee subsequently became a machinist, and some of the experience he gained in that post proved very useful in his later years. In 1983, though, Satharith’s life changed forever when he wed a woman named Nakry.
A fellow Cambodian refugee, Nakry made the move to the U.S. in March 1981, just weeks after Satharith’s arrival. From there, she became an employee at a Wendy’s restaurant. Thanks to her mom, she also went on to meet her future husband during that period.
