It turned out that an old lady who lived locally had experienced a mishap at home. In her subsequent panic, the 84-year-old had mistakenly called the dealership. Gina heard about how the lady had slipped over while preparing herself a bath. When the old girl realized that she couldn’t get up, she had tried to reach out to her daughter for help. Unfortunately, however, elderly woman had misdialed a couple of numbers on her phone and accidentally rang the BMW showroom instead.
“She called our landline and got through to our receptionist, who asked me what to do,” Vuong later explained to his local newspaper, Newcastle’s The Chronicle, shortly after the incident. Vuong, in turn, wasted no time with his quick-thinking reactions. He did an internet search for the old woman’s address then jumped in his car and made a mercy dash to the pensioner’s rescue.
“I said, ‘I’ll go and make sure she’s [okay].’ At first, I thought she was just across the road. It turned out she was about two miles away,” Vuong revealed to the newspaper. But the salesman was clever and ensured that he was able to maintain contact with the stricken senior citizen on his way to her address. He said, “I drove over there while our receptionist kept her talking on the phone.”
