13. Greg Giraldo
Reruns of Comedy Central’s infamous roasts still keep Greg Giraldo on screen; unfortunately, though, he’ll never appear on a new one again. That’s because the stand-up comedian passed away in 2010 of an accidental prescription drug overdose at the age of 44 – a sad end for a man who had brought laughter to so many.
12. Michael Jeter
Michael Jeter was not only a veteran actor with roles in the well-known likes of The Green Mile, Jurassic Park III and Waterworld, but also a prominent spokesperson for HIV/AIDS awareness. Both of those things should perhaps have given Jeter’s 2003 death more prominence in the media and elsewhere; as it happens, though, the 50-year-old’s passing from a seizure has gone comparatively unheralded.
