For some people, long-term relationships can be incredibly rewarding. Indeed, by spending so much time together, those individuals feel a connection unlike anything else. Kirk Douglas and Anne Buydens can certainly attest to that, as they first met back in 1953 before getting married the following year.
One of Hollywood’s most recognizable actors from that period, Douglas was also known for his womanizing. At one point in time, his dressing room was even referred to as “the lion’s den,” such was his reputation. Despite all that, though, the superstar went on to form a lasting relationship with Buydens.
Buydens was plying her trade as a movie publicist at that point and operated out of Paris, France. After spurning Douglas’ advances at first, she eventually warmed to the actor, which led to them getting together. However, as their 65th wedding anniversary approaches in May 2019, the philanthropist revealed some of the ups and downs in their marriage.
