1. Phone Booth (2003)

Naturally, the top spot on our list is reserved for a scene in the most phone booth-inspired movie of them all. Yep, you guessed it, Phone Booth. In Joel Schumacher’s 2003 suspense thriller, Stu Shepard, played by Colin Farrell, learns of his adversary’s cruel intentions after answering a pay phone. Kiefer Sutherland’s character, simply known as The Caller, warns Shepard not to leave the booth and fires a sniper rifle in the booth’s vicinity to suggest the possible ramifications of Shepard not obeying. Shepard is plunged into a battle of wits with The Caller, who seems to know every detail of his private life – and appears to be calling all the shots. The movie’s original release date in November 2002 was pushed back because of the Beltway sniper attacks in the D.C., Virginia, and Maryland areas that same year.
