Sad to say, but Shepard found himself in the headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2015. The star was arrested for aggravated drunk driving in New Mexico. He was sentenced to two years probation, 100 hours of community service and was ordered to attend alcohol education classes. Shepard had previously pleaded guilty to a similar offense six years previously.
Nevertheless, despite his personal problems, Shepard added to his already crowded resume during that time. He enjoyed roles in Cold in July, Ithaca, Midnight Special and In Dubious Battle. In 2017 he was seen on screen starring opposite Mireille Enos in Never Here. But the thriller would prove to be Shepard’s swan song.
