20. Butch was intended to be an up-and-coming boxer

While Bruce Willis nailed the role of Butch, Tarantino had initially planned something different for the character. Specifically, he’d envisaged him as an aspiring boxer, so it’s perhaps no surprise that he had Sylvester Stallone, Matt Dillon and Mickey Rourke in mind to play him. Tarantino eventually changed his mind about the character, however, and offered the role to Willis, who was at first more interested in the role of Vincent.
