Making a film is such a colossal process that it is perhaps inevitable that a few errors will slip through the cracks. But some are more ridiculous than others. From fake babies to disappearing tattoos, here’s a look at 20 movie mistakes you might find hard to believe made the final edit.
20. Kid predicts gunshot in North by Northwest
They say never work with animals or children. And Alfred Hitchcock discovered that was true to his cost while filming 1959’s North by Northwest. Indeed, just before a gunshot is fired in the cafeteria scene at Mount Rushmore, a young extra can be seen holding his hands over his ears. 19. Croissant turns into pancake in Pretty Woman
Food and drink are notoriously tricky when it comes to film continuity. A full wine glass will often turn into a near empty one, or a half-eaten sandwich will return to its original state in the blink of an eye. But it’s rare for a foodstuff to change completely. And yet that’s what happens in Pretty Woman, when Julia Roberts is seen enjoying a croissant that somehow becomes a pancake in a matter of seconds.
