Paul McCartney Revealed His Inspiration For “Let It Be” – And The Tale Left James Corden In Tears

It’s an interviewer’s job to get the best stories from their subjects. However, TV host James Corden wasn’t ready for what Paul McCartney shared with him during the filming of Carpool Karaoke. The prolific musician actually revealed the inspiration for “Let It Be,” his smash hit with The Beatles. And Corden wiped away tears in response to the beautiful story.

McCartney’s career has been successful, to say the very least. First, he and his Beatles bandmates revolutionized pop music over their ten years together. Then he formed the Grammy award-winning band Wings. And since 1970 he has been making music on his own too.

In a 2018 interview with 60 Minutes, in fact, McCartney said he could hardly keep up with the sheer scope of his own discography, especially in preparing for a performance. “When I’m doing shows, I listen to a lot of music, Beatles music, Wings music, to see what ones we’re going to do. And to learn them… There’s too many. Too many words. Too many notes,” the musician said.
