Moving from gentle folk to hardcore punk now, and a stunning recreation of Black Flag’s debut full-length album, 1981’s Damaged. The LP that was declared immoral by one record label has here been reimagined with a ginger kitty on its cover swiping a paw at a glass mirror in a fitting homage to the influential California punks – in particular, vocalist and original mirror cracker Henry Rollins.

The late Marvin Gaye’s poignant soul masterpiece What’s Going On wasn’t going to miss out on the Kitten Covers treatment. The pensive-looking image of Gaye on the 1971 album’s cover is recreated to purrfection here – perhaps by denying the cheerless kitty a biscuit.
