There’s no hint in Ronnie James Dio’s yearbook picture that this is the guy who would bring the world the famous “metal horns” hand gesture so often seen at rock concerts. But Dio did, and he also, somewhat surprisingly for a rocker, avoided drug use. Sadly, it was stomach cancer that claimed his life in 2010.

Poor old Iggy Pop. He began life with the big round eyes and blonde hair of an angel, but beauty just doesn’t last in the rock world. Indeed, fans used to love it when young Iggy took his shirt off, but now when old Iggy does it, he’s compared to a hairless cat.
