Ice Cube has suggested that “F**k tha Police” could have been omitted from the album because of Dr. Dre’s reluctance to include it – understandable, perhaps, considering that Dre was in a bit of trouble with the authorities at the time.

17. Dr. Dre was in an electro-pop band before N.W.A.
Prior to his rap career, Dr. Dre enjoyed modest success with electro group World Class Wreckin’ Cru, along with DJ Yella. Back then, however, the future producer, hip-hop star and entrepreneur seemed to prefer outlandish suits to all-black getup.

In 1989 the F.B.I. wrote to the group decrying “F**k tha Police” for its unfair representation of law enforcement. The clever marketing team at Priority Records, however, sparked fresh interest in N.W.A after sharing the letter with journalists.
