15. Fonzie could have spent the show “monkeying around”

In hindsight, it’s hard to imagine anyone more suited to the role of Fonzie than Henry Winkler. But producers had one other actor in mind for the part: the Monkees’ Micky Dolenz. And, incredibly, both actors were on an equal footing for the role. “I’m so glad [Winkler got the part],” Dolenz told Guitar World in 2015. “He was a much better Fonz than I would have been.”
