The world of television can be a harsh one. You can have a fantastic, funny, well-written show – but if it fails to get ratings, the cancelation button awaits. That’s what happened to these 20 series. All of them were canned after just one season each, but their losses were seriously unjust. And some of the following shows now have such huge fanbases that the people responsible for their junkings may just be kicking themselves.

20. Almost Human (2013 to 2014)

Almost Human took the old “buddy cops” premise to its next level. In the series, Michael Ealy played a snarky android in a futuristic world, while Karl Urban portrayed his prejudiced human partner. But although the concept was great, the cast was great and the show was even produced by J.J. Abrams, it still failed to get high ratings. Now, sadly, Almost Human has been reduced to the status of a promising might-have-been.
