Gone are the days when successful male models had to be aged 30 or younger, have flawlessly smooth skin and no hint of gray hair. Yes, a new wave of more mature, rugged men are seeking to supplant them, and they’re doing a very good job so far. In fact, they’re making the fashion industry more badass and more inclusive, which can only be a good thing. Perhaps, then, everyone can learn to embrace their gray hair and wrinkles as completely as these ten hot guys have done.
10. Anthony Varrecchia
The beefy and beautiful Anthony Varrecchia is a popular older male model, and it’s not hard to see why. After all, gray hair and muscles the size of the Hulk’s make for a truly striking combination. Unsurprisingly, this 53-year-old silver fox is a fitness enthusiast, too.
You may have spotted Varrecchia in a 2011 NOH8 campaign, holding up a photograph in honor of his late husband. And he’s certainly getting a lot of attention now as well. In fact, he told Loverboy magazine, “From Facebook to Instagram I receive messages that I’m an inspiration. I think to myself – wow!”
9. Anton Nilsson
Some men go to great lengths to dye their hair once it starts graying. In fact, they’re doing it in increasing numbers. But Swedish model Anton Nilsson left his alone, and he looks all the better for it.
The 53-year-old shows up on billboards all over the world advertising fashion brands. Plus, Nilsson has over 2,000 followers on Instagram, and no doubt all of them can’t get enough of his handsome face and smoldering eyes.
8. Irvin Randle
Who said Instagram models have to be young? Irvin Randle gained the nickname “Mr Steal Your Grandma” in 2016 when pictures of him went viral. Yes, the internet went wild for the good-looking Houston native, to the amazement of the man himself.
“I’ve always dressed like this. I’ve just been wearing things a little tighter,” the 54-year-old told the media once they tracked him down. But his sexy style led to him landing modeling gigs, including one with the Fuel Beard Company.
7. Alessandro Manfredini
Ever had a parent or grandparent disapprovingly ask you, “What will you look like with all those tattoos when you get older?” Well, you might actually end up looking like 48-year-old tattooed Italian model Alessandro Manfredini. That is, absolutely great.
In addition to the tats, Manfredini also rocks his impressive beard with style. There’s a story behind it, too: when an earthquake flattened his home and everything in it, he grew out his facial hair to symbolize a new beginning. Wow.
6. Jon Campling
The incredibly striking Jon Campling is signed up to Grey, a unique U.K. agency dedicated to models over 35. However, industry professionals have noticed that, in the U.K. at least, older male models don’t tend to get much work.
However, in addition to modeling, Campling has started working in the acting world. In fact, the 50-year-old appeared as a Death Eater in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and in 2016 he appeared in a Ford Edge commercial.
5. Ron Jack Foley
Ron Jack Foley is another male model who has truly magnificent facial hair. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s also blessed with beautiful eyes and perfect bone structure. Naturally, girls (and guys) all over the world are going nuts for him.
Foley’s 2016 appearance in a Volvo XC90 commercial set tongues wagging; he may actually have garnered more attention than the car itself. Now, his Facebook fan page is called “The World’s Sexiest Man,” and his 7,000 plus Instagram followers clearly agree with the sentiment.
4. Ingo Brosch
Ingo Brosch is a 47-year-old German model who’s appeared in adverts for European watch and jewelry companies, like Union Glashütte and Hamilton & Inches. He also looks a little bit like a slightly older James Bond.
Brosch describes himself on Instagram as a “grey hair model,” but his most striking features are his dark blue eyes and smile. Whatever you think, though, his Instagram has around 800 followers right now, and it’s sure to gain more in the future.
3. Aiden Brady
Gorgeous 50-year-old model Aiden Brady, who also goes by the name Aiden Shaw, has had a pretty amazing life. For instance, before he became a model he took jobs as a musician, a teacher, an escort and even a gay adult film actor.
In 1997 Brady was diagnosed with HIV and decided to change his life completely. In addition to a successful modeling career – recently he was the face of Polish fashion brand Bytom – he’s formed a band, recorded two albums and written several novels.
2. Seth Andrew Silver
Seth Andrew Silver has the beard of a pirate, the tattoos of a pirate and the name of a pirate. However, he’s a good deal better looking than your average pirate. And if that wasn’t enough, he also rides motorcycles.
You wouldn’t imagine for one second that such a badass-looking man could be a model, but Silver is all about breaking stereotypes and looking beneath the surface. In fact, “seeing is forgetting what you are looking at” is his life philosophy.
1. Phillippe Dumas
This 60-year-old’s route into modeling is insane. Check it: Phillippe Dumas went from being a French film location manager, to being unemployed, to suddenly being a successful male model after someone uploaded his photos to imgur. Now, he’s signed to six agencies and making waves everywhere.
Dumas is humble about his success, especially since he never dreamed of being a model before. But he’s keen to be good representation for the elderly crowd. “Style is more important than beauty,” he told Today. “You can have style at any age.”
