40 Iconic WWE Superstars Who Are Parents Outside Of The Ring

The inherently macho nature of the WWE means we very rarely get to see wrestlers’ sensitive sides. But when away from the ring, the majority switch back to the role of dedicated family men and women who like nothing more than having fun with their kids. Here’s a look at 40 wrestling parents who are pure softies at heart.

1. Randy Orton

Randy Orton has two kids from two different marriages. The wrestler and his first wife, Samantha Speno, welcomed their only child, Alanna, into the world in 2008. Sadly, the pair divorced just five years later, but in 2015 Orton walked down the aisle again. His second spouse, Kimberly Kessler, already had three kids herself and their blended family became even bigger in 2016. That year, she gave birth to the couple’s first baby together, Brooklyn Rose.

2. A.J. Styles

AJ. Styles certainly isn’t afraid to show how much he cares for his four children with wife Wendy. The wrestler, in fact, has each of their birth dates and initials tattooed on his torso. His first child, Ajay Covell, arrived in 2005, followed by Avery in 2007, Albey in 2009 and Anney in 2014.

3. Matt Hardy

One-time hell-raiser Matt Hardy credits the mother of his three children for helping him get on the straight and narrow. The WWE star and Reby Sky Reyes first became parents in 2015 with the arrival of son Maxel. They added to their family unit two years later with Wolfgang Xander and then again in 2019 with the birth of Bartholomew Kit.

4. Curt Hawkins

Curt Hawkins prefers to keep his life away from the WWE ring private, so little is known about his young family. But we do know that he walked down the aisle with his girlfriend of many years, Lizzie Karcher, in 2015. And that two years later, the couple became parents with the birth of daughter McKenzie.

5. Roderick Strong

It’s highly likely that tot Troy Veniamin Lindsey will have the toughest parents in class when he eventually makes it to school. The youngster, who was born in 2017, has mixed martial artist Marina Shafir for a mother. And his father is Ring of Honor’s Triple Crown Champion, Roderick Strong.

Karl Anderson met wife Christine Bui while honing his wrestling talents in Japan. After returning to the States, the pair married and had three kids, Caedon, Cruz and Cylus, who the wrestler often shares pictures of on his social media accounts. And in 2019 the pair welcomed their fourth child into the world.

7. Edge

The wrestler born Adam Joseph Copeland had to go through two marriages before becoming a father. He wed and divorced Alannah Morley and Lisa Ortiz before entering into a relationship with another ex-WWE star, Beth Phoenix. The pair became parents in 2013 with the birth of daughter Lyric Rose and then again three years later with the arrival of Ruby Ever.

8. Mike Kanellis

Mike Kanellis became half of one wrestling’s premier power couples in 2011 when he began dating fellow WWE star Maria. The pair wed three years later, and in 2018, welcomed their first child into the world, Fredrica Moon. The Kanellis’ family unit then became a four-piece with the birth of Carver Mars in 2020.

9. Brie Bella

Half of the wrestling world’s premier twin female duo, Brie Bella wed fellow WWE star Daniel Bryan in 2014. She gave birth to their first child, Birdie Joe, three years later. And in 2020, she revealed that she was pregnant again, coincidentally on the exact same day that sister Nikki announced she was expecting her first child.

10. Big Show

Larger than life wrestler Paul Donald Wight, A.K.A. Big Show, is a father of three. He has one daughter from his marriage to Melissa Ann Piavis and two children with Bess Katramados, his second wife. The WWE star then proved he’s a big softie when he played the lead in Netflix’s family sitcom The Big Show Show.

The wrestling world once again became something of an alternative matchmaking service when Maryse Ouellet and The Miz began dating in the early ‘10s. The pair later married and had two kids together. Monroe Sky was born in 2018, while their second child, Madison Jade, arrived just over a year later.

The wrestler also has two other kids with his second spouse, Lauren Hashian. The pair met while filming kids movie The Game Plan.

13. Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle claims the birth of twin daughters Amy and Allison has only made him a tougher wrestler. He told UFC.com, “When I get in [the ring] it just makes me a meaner person. I need to take care of these kids and my wife. When I first started fighting in the UFC I was a pretty nice guy. Over the years I’ve gotten meaner and I think that’s a good thing.” Riddle also has a son with wife Lisa Rennie.

Kurt Angle must surely be one of the WWE’s busiest fathers. The wrestler has no fewer than six kids from his two marriages. He welcomed his first two children into the world with Karen Smedley. Angle’s next three came from his relationship with actor Giovanna Yannotti. And in 2019, the pair revealed that they planned to adopt a child from the Eastern European nation of Bulgaria.

Named in honor of the wrestler’s late mother, the youngster grew into a big sister five years later with the arrival of Nera Quinn. Both of Hardy’s children are from his marriage to Beth Britt.

One half of tag-team the Bludgeon Brothers, Erick Rowan is a renowned man of mystery. The wrestler hardly said a word during his early years in the WWE. Lacey Evans’ daughter with husband Alfonso is still a small child. But she’s already become embroiled in the crazy world of the WWE. In 2019, Evans’ fierce rival Bayley used a picture of little Summer to taunt her mother. “Even her own daughter knows she is trash,” the wrestler tweeted. The accompanying picture showed the youngster in the crowd watching her mom while appearing to give a thumbs down gesture.

But David Daniel Otunga Jr., born in 2009, is the son of the same-named wrestler and Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson, who picked up an Oscar for her role in the movie.
