Car Fails That Are Seriously Hard To Look At

Beware — clueless drivers are everywhere! Yep, people regularly commit roadway crimes and get away with it guilt-free. But thanks to dashcams and smartphones, more motorists’ hilarious mishaps are being recorded. And their outlandish errors make for unforgettable pictures that are perfect shaming material.

1. Trusting the duct tape

Duct tape is strong enough to secure just about anything, including the bumper on the back of this car. It’s also acting as the windows for the dented side of the sad vehicle too. We’re not sure how long the duct tape has been on the car, but it’s sure doing some heavy lifting.

2. Only at Walmart

This Canadian Walmart customer must have thought it was their lucky day when they landed the most shaded spot in the lot. Either that or — more likely — they just didn’t care.

3. Uncommon combination

Where can you buy a six-door Prius, you ask? The short answer is "nowhere." This guy apparently decided to weld another set of doors onto his vehicle, creating this monstrosity. At least it'll get good gas mileage!

4. Rims too far

Is this a fail or not? Driving a Smart car that has been converted into a monster truck has to be a lot of fun, right? The man behind the wheel looks like he’s having a great time steering a souped-up vehicle that is reminiscent of a real-life Tonka truck. We’d love to try out this invention.

5. Keeping cool

Driving in the summer heat can be incredibly uncomfortable, especially when the steering wheel and seats get blisteringly hot. For this driver, however, the heat is no issue — shade follows them wherever they go!

6. Laundry on the go

Ever wish you could do laundry and drive cross-country at the same time? Well, wish no more! With just a little water, detergent, and a drink cooler, any tire can become a makeshift tumble washer. Just make sure the lid is on tight, or else your delicates might wind up strewn across the highway!

7. A little reinforcement

Buying new tires for your car is expensive, a fact the owner of this vehicle clearly knew full well. He figured, "Why shell out hundreds of dollars for a single tire when I can just repair the old one with a few zip-ties?" There's no way this could possibly backfire...

8. Best of both worlds

For the first time ever, off-roading and camping have been combined into one. Let's just hope this Franken-vehicle is sturdier than it looks — one sharp turn, and the whole contraption could take a mean tumble down the mountain!

9. One fix for everything

This driver must be good pals with the zip-tie tire guy because he had the exact same idea for a fix when bits of his bumper started coming loose. At this rate, car companies might as well start including a package of ties in the glove box with every purchase!

10. Watch your head

What do you do when the air conditioner in your vehicle stops working? You install a new one, of course! Hopefully, the passengers in the back seat won't mind the giant piece of metal jutting into their heads.

11. The transporter

If ever you need to transport a bed or other piece of large furniture, be sure to call this guy. Instead of settling for the cheap plastic racks that most cars come with, this driver opted for something a bit sturdier. After all, what could be more secure than a few 2x4s strapped to your roof?

12. Three-wheel drive

As it turns out, changing a flat tire is not always a must. In fact, you can apparently just get rid of the tire altogether — so long as you have a handy cart at your disposal. Just make sure to take those turns nice and easy!

13. A little bulky

This car is going to be cooler than Miles Davis. This air conditioning unit probably seemed like a great idea for a few hours... until it took out another car's side window in a tight parking space.

14. Bling car

Let your personality shine, but be safe about it. If the sun catches the rhinestones at the right angle, the driver of this bling car could blind someone just like those annoyingly bright LED lights in newer cars. Put all that sparkle on your phone instead.

15. DIY bodywork

Some speed racers out there mod their cars with supplies bought at their local hardware stores. This odd teardrop shape won't make this guy's ride more aerodynamic, but his lack of friends in the car should help his MPG.

16. Flames all over

Cool off, Guy Fieri. A couple of flame decals are tacky enough, but an entire ring of fire tells everyone that your aesthetic tastes haven't changed since you were 10 years old. Didn't you have some Hot Wheels with the same pattern?

17. Six wheels

Unless you're steering a tractor-trailer, you really don't need more than four tires. An extra pair will make onlookers think that either your car is about to fall apart or that there's been a glitch in the Matrix.

18. Custom pickup

Police will give you a ticket if your tail light is out. But society will give you the cold shoulder if you turn your lights into troll-worthy messages. You can only be so clever with six characters.

19. Rims too far

The top comments on the TruckDaily Facebook post of this picture are all about the rims — and not in a good way. "I don't get the big-rims-on-trucks thing," one person said. "Truck is ugly because of the rims," said another. People also pointed out that there was no way that truck is getting out of the forest on those tires.

20. Mini truck

Driving a truck can make you feel supremely macho, but homemade versions are never as cool. One big no-no is transforming a regular car into a pickup, especially when it's as small as a Mini Cooper. Have fun hauling a single cardboard box.

21. Fake wood paneling

Why are retro-minded road hogs obsessed with making their doors look wooden? This design isn't making your ride any more eco-friendly. What's really unfortunate is that people with disastrous DIY car mods often make the same mistakes everywhere else.

22. Balancing act

The precision needed to nail this balancing act was incredible, and the guy was right to proudly show off his efforts to the local firefighters.

23. Inbetweener

This legend found the perfect parking spot outside a children’s hospital in San Deigo, California, in February 2013. Unfortunately for him, it was ten feet high, and he needed to be rescued by firefighters.

24. Cage rage

There’s a proper saga behind this one. The owner of the white van randomly put his own “no parking” sign behind his vehicle on this Washington street. Then the Smart car owner ignored it and legally parked there anyway. But crazy van driver subsequently took matters into his own hands and built a wooden cage around the car. Sounds healthy.

25. Trash parking

Here’s an example of arrogant parking from a Mercedes driver. Still, they paid the price for dumping their car diagonally across a few spaces. That shiny red auto was covered in trash and caution tape and topped off with traffic cones. The smiley face in the back window just made it all the better.

26. Another level

Parking lot revenge can be taken to a whole new level (literally) when you’ve got a forklift at your disposal. In fact, this illegal parker had his car carefully placed on top of a metal cage. Of course, someone who’s got potential anger issues shouldn’t really be in charge of driving a forklift, but we’ll let this one fly.

27. Bike issues

This cyclist picked the wrong driver to mess with: literally throwing a bike into a tree is a sure sign of some kind of serious rage issues. But hey, it’s a total riot for us humble internet observers.

28. That's a wrap

At this office parking lot, you park over the line at your own risk. After all, one of your completely insane co-workers might exact their revenge in Saran wrap. The note on the window, translated from Spanish, apparently explained that the car was sealed because it didn’t “obey boundary conditions” and violated “the law of Maxwell.” Say what?

29. Chalk it up

Uh-oh, someone’s been at the chalk again! This revenge took place at a Texas high school, so perhaps the avenger was a teacher or a pupil? Whatever the case, it’s an honest and direct act against a fool who parked their truck over four spaces. And it’s colorful, which is always a bonus.

30. You wait for one bus...

We’re not sure how anyone could possibly think that parking in a bus lot would be a good idea, but we suspect that this guy will reconsider once he comes back to his vehicle to find it blocked in. Props to the bus drivers for their devious thinking, though.

31. Extreme measures

We may never know exactly what the offending driver did to deserve such extreme treatment. But it seems that bad parking really does bring out the aggressive side in people.

32. Cart trap

If you don’t have a bunch of friends with cars to block someone in, just use supermarket shopping carts instead. It might not take the guilty party long to move them out of the way, but any inconvenience is worth it when their parking is this terrible.
