When you’re a kid, the long summer days are full of fun and adventures. But for parents, the summers are a total drag, full of cleaning up after greedy offspring. Meet the 20 parents who are totally beside themselves about their little ones heading back to class…
A couple of delicious mimosas and a high five as the kids jump on the first school bus of the year – now that’s a good way to celebrate back to class. These parents know how to live life to the max.
Sometimes the only way to celebrate is with a classic fist-pump. This happy parent was featured in a hilarious video – viewed over five millions times – released by parenting YouTube channel WhatsUpMoms, showing moms celebrating the first day back.
Fist pump part two. These kids look pretty bummed out about going back to school (apart from the little one, who’s excited, obviously, because kindergarten is basically just coloring in and afternoon naps). But for Kathy, it’s her first day of freedom. Hurrah!
The day this mom has been counting down to all summer has finally arrived. As well as unhappy looking kids, spot the teacher dude in the tie, also dreading his first day back at school.
Sounds like this mom is really distraught about seeing her little one start pre-kindergarten. She wrote on Facebook, “Today is bitter sweet! My baby starts pre-k. Trying not to cry. We had to make it fun and find the humor in it.” FYI, we’re digging those slippers.
Even church pastors celebrate the first day back at school. The user behind this photo wrote on Imgur, “Had a friend send his kids off to school with flair this year. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” Er, your kid’s faces suggest they might not quite agree…
This dad clearly cannot deal with the idea of his children heading back to school after the summer’s out. Look at how he’s shoving them into the car: utterly distraught.
No wonder poor little Felicia is down the dumps – kindergarten is a total nightmare. Learning to count is beyond traumatic. Or maybe she’s just upset because she has to wear that dress.
Tracy Moutafis from Massachusetts takes celebrating the first day back at school to a whole new level. Every year she literally dances for joy as the school bus pulls away – and fittingly, in 2013 her soundtrack was *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”. Adios, kids!
“Baby Got Class” – that’s the awesome name of the back-to-school parody that the Holderness family put together to kick off their celebrations. Clearly they’re super upset by the idea of their children heading back to class.
Now here’s a mom who knows how to celebrate back-to-school day – with some wine and chocolates by the pool. She wrote, “I’ll lovingly remember the fun of my son’s first back to school day.” Three bottles, though? That’s just greedy.
Keshia Leeann Gardner is clearly distressed by the idea of her kids returning to school. She wrote on Facebook, “Happy 1st day of school, kids. I’m gonna miss ya’ll.” However, her son’s facepalm suggests he definitely won’t miss Mom’s embarrassing acrobatic antics.
Four kids at home over the summer? That’s gotta be tough. This mom celebrated in a now classic way, by lining them all up in a row and leaping for joy.
And it’s not only little ones that return to school at the end of the holidays – gloomy teenagers head back to college, too. This dad celebrated in front of a big pile of what can only be described as “stuff” that’ll no longer be cluttering up his house. Result.
This New Jersey dad is high as a kite about the prospect of his three kids returning to class. Tyler, Alyssa and EJ, however, are either annoyed about having to go back to school or simply embarrassed by their goofy pap.
No wonder this mom is happy it’s back-to-school day – she has six kids at home. The Imgur poster behind this photo wrote, “I present you my mother and my six adopted siblings.” That woman deserves a medal!
Hats off to this overjoyed mom, because it’s not easy to jump that high and also make that ecstatic grin. But the award for “best expression” obviously goes to the little one.
Believe it or not, Stacy Risenmay insists she had mixed emotions about the kids going back to school. She said, “I get to go back to my ‘normal’ and structured routine… but I go through kid withdrawals. I miss them like crazy after having them all day for three months.” Hmm, your pic is telling us otherwise, Stacy!
This mother, thought to be from Dublin, celebrated getting rid of her six kids on back-to-school day by literally jumping for joy. This photo’s been viewed over a million times… but her son eldest son doesn’t seem that impressed.
And finally, this mom-slash-blogger believes she has loads of different roles to play in raising her kids, including role model. She wrote, “And today, as the sun rose on the first day of school, a cheerleader.” Hand that lady some pompoms, quick!
