Think Your Day Is Bad? See This Mom Try to Get Her Four Kids Ready

You’ve barely slept and are simultaneously balancing trying to get dressed with making breakfast. Just to add to your morning headache, though, one of your crying babies has caused the other three to join in the sobbing chorus. How would you deal with it all? Perhaps not as well as this mom-of-four, who makes dealing with her large brood look like a piece of cake.

And even being a parent to just one young child can be a tough job sometimes. Spare a thought, then, for Canadian couple Corrie-Lynn Whyte and Dan Gibson, who have four little bundles of joy to deal with and never even anticipated their family growing quite so large so soon.

At least, dad Dan had been expecting a single bouncing baby the last time that Corrie-Lynn was expecting. In fact, when his partner told him what was really going to happen in a few months’ time, he thought at first that she was taking him for a ride.

“I did not believe her, I thought she was pulling my leg,” Dan told BuzzFeed while recalling Corrie-Lynn’s initial announcement. But the results of the ultrasound confirmed it: not just one but three new babies were expected to be springing into their lives with the pregnancy.

That shock may have been exacerbated by the fact that the multiple pregnancy had happened without the aid of fertility treatments – something that statistically only happens in one in every thousand births or so. Olivia, Jackson and Levi were odds-defying babies, then, when they entered the world in 2015 – and along with Corrie-Lynn, Dan and their first daughter, toddler Emily, they’re now part of quite the adorable family.

As their family doubled in size in one stroke, it would be natural to assume that mom and dad were completely in over their heads after the triplets were born. That’s not quite the case, though: the couple have raised the already high bar for parents everywhere with their expertise, and seeing them in action – particularly Corrie-Lynn – is incredible.

The couple were getting a lot of queries while they were out with their little army. As a result, they gave birth to something else entirely – a blog, named The Baby Gang, that tracks their family life and shares tips and experiences. Their identically named Facebook page, meanwhile, has also become quite a phenomenon.

And it was when the couple posted a video of Corrie-Lynn’s daily routine to that Facebook page in February 2016 that the whole world saw just how super a mom she is. The clip amazingly shows how Corrie-Lynn wrangles her rampaging children and changes them for bed despite their best efforts in wriggling away.

In it, Corrie-Lynn carries her children into the bedroom – two babies in her arms, then another, then Emily. She quickly dresses one wriggling baby while keeping an eye on her boisterous toddler daughter, who jumps around on the bed, climbs off it and then decides as quickly that she wants to get back on. No problem for mom, who hoists her eldest back up and then just keeps on dressing.

And as errant triplets squirm away from her and towards the ends of the bed, Corrie-Lynn’s lightning-fast reflexes and eagle eyes enable her to scoop them up and put them in a safer place. Then she goes back to dressing their siblings while not having missed a beat – good work, mom!

Despite the odds stacked against her, supermom is on hand to make sure no other babies or toddlers get away as she finishes dressing all of her energetic mob. Watching Corrie-Lynn corral her children with such expertise, and like it’s no big thing, is both jaw-dropping and inspiring.

And it’s surely testament to Corrie-Lynn’s skills that within just three days of posting the video on Facebook it had reached a staggering 34 million views. Naturally, it also earned her a massive amount of kudos from other parents on the social media site.

The couple’s Baby Gang Facebook page itself, meanwhile, has nearly 215,000 likes and climbing. On it, parents from all over the world write of their awe of the large family’s exploits, and it’s easy to see why – they must definitely work hard.

Dan confirmed to BuzzFeed that having four young children is indeed a lot of work – although that’s only to be expected. But that work, it seems, is tempered by the joy the new arrivals bring. “It’s just a really cool experience, it’s been completely amazing,” Dan added of life as a dad to his quartet of kids.

And although Corrie-Lynn’s hectic baby-wrangling has brought the family the widest attention, Dan definitely deserves some credit on the parenting front as well. His posts on their Baby Gang blog, for example, show how much time and love he has for his children – and that he’s willing to share exercise tips and healthy recipes with other parents to help them and their kids, too.

And it’s incredible in itself that the couple expertly manage to slot in regular updates to their blog, Facebook and Instagram pages while juggling the responsibilities that life with four kids under three brings. Proof, if any be needed, that they have this whole mom and dad thing totally down.

What’s more, Dan has revealed that he also gets a lot out of recording the antics of his family and sharing his experiences with the rest of the world. “[The blog] has really allowed us to see how much fun and joy it has brought to people,” he added to BuzzFeed.

Corrie-Lynn’s social media posts, meanwhile, speak of a happy and fulfilled mom who has taken to parenting her brood like a duck to water. “The 4 reasons I smile each day” is the caption to one of her snaps of her adorable kids – accompanied by the hashtag “#lovesofmylife.”

It’s Corrie-Lynn who Dan thinks deserves the credit for raising their little family, even if she downplays what a great mother she is. Apparently, she believes that “every mom is a super mom” – “and I agree with her,” Dan added to BuzzFeed.

Corrie-Lynn shouldn’t be so humble, though. After all, not everyone can deal with four rambunctious young children as well as she demonstrated in her viral video – an amazing display that should earn her the title of “supermom” in anyone’s book.
