20 Handsome Hunks Who Ended Up Stealing The Hearts Of Every Noughties Teen

The Noughties were a good time for T.V. and music. But if you were the sort of teenager who dreamed of a hot, famous man whisking you off your feet, they were an even better time. Whether you liked teen heartthrobs or dashing older actors, handsome dudes were on every screen and every wall. These 20 guys were especially beloved…

20. Orlando Bloom

The Lord of the Rings trilogy was very, very good, but there were many teenage girls who would have loved it anyway. This was purely because of the presence of Legolas, Orlando Bloom’s devastatingly attractive elfin warrior. Bloom was everywhere for a while, and in 2006 was named one of the Sexiest Men Alive by People magazine. However, as the decade drew to a close, the actor gradually fell off the radar. His last big role was in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in 2017.

19. Seann William Scott

Seann William Scott was the loveable stoner, with loveable good looks, for most of his career. Unfortunately, it was this sort of typecasting that caused his career to slow as soon as he got noticeably older. Though he’s stuck with the American Pie franchise for years, he hasn’t had a hit in a while. Hopefully his new role in Fox’s Lethal Weapon will help get him back to the limelight.

18. Pete Wentz

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz was the dream boy of every Noughties emo-goth girl. Hot Topics stores were filled with products bearing his face. These days, his glorious emo haircut is gone, but his musical talent remains. And now he’s the father of three children, including one from his highly-publicized relationship with singer and actor, Ashlee Simpson.

17. Tom Welling

Everybody loves a superhero. And before anyone was guarding the galaxy, was being looked after by Tom Welling’s Clark Kent/Superman. The ex-model was gorgeous then, and he still is, but he tends to shy away from the limelight. And the actor doesn’t do a lot of interviews either. But fans can get their Welling fix from the Fox show Lucifer, which he appeared in during 2017.

16. Jensen Ackles

These days Jensen Ackles is best known for playing Dean Winchester in Supernatural, which has been running since 2005. But before he started fighting demons he was a regular soap juggernaut Day of Our Lives. And the actor clearly picked up some sci-fi skills during his stint on Smallville. These shows clearly cemented him as an absolute heartthrob – and he’s still going strong. The internet absolutely adores him, and Supernatural doesn’t look like it’ll be slowing down any time soon.

15. Freddie Prinze Jr

Actor Freddie Prinze Jr won the hearts of thousands of teenage girls in the ‘90s. However, he was able to carry that success on to the ‘00s as well. Things like the movie version of Scooby-Doo series and a memorable appearance in Friends kept him going. But perhaps the dreamiest thing about him is that he’s been married to fellow actor Sarah Michelle Gellar for over 15 years, without ever a hint of problems between them.

14. Jonathan Bennett

Jonathan Bennett starred in one of the most iconic films of the Noughties: Mean Girls. Altogether now, “His hair looks sexy pushed back!” Bennett was never in anything quite so memorable again, unfortunately, but he’s still working as an actor. And in 2017, he came out as gay and announced he was in a relationship with TV host Jaymes Bennett. They make an extremely cute couple.

13. Adam Brody

Adam Brody was such a dreamboat: he was good-looking, surfed, played music, and he was on The O.C. His career is still going strong to this day, in fact, in 2019 he’ll appear in the D.C. movie Shazam! – but alas, he’s taken. In 2014 he married actress Leighton Meester, and by 2015 they had their first child together.

12. Lil’ Romeo

Lil’ Romeo now goes by Romeo Miller, because he’s not so lil’ anymore. However, he was a big child star in the Noughties, working in both the movie world and the music one. Naturally, he attracted a lot of attention from girls his own age. But that part of his life may well be behind him now, as he seeks to juggle his entertainment career with another passion of his, basketball.

The younger teens of the Noughties loved Clayton Snyder, who played Ethan Craft in the Lizzie McGuire TV show and movie. He was a teen heartthrob… but then he grew into an adult heartthrob! Even though he’s 30 years old, he still has an army of fans who remember him from his Lizzie days. In fact, he’s got an impressive 43k followers on his Instagram, where he describes himself as “that guy from Lizzie McGuire.”

10. Chad Michael Murray

Actor Chad Michael Murray was very big in his day, thanks to his role on One Tree Hill. He appeared on multiple magazine covers, was voted onto Sexiest Guys lists, and even managed to salvage 2005’s horrendous House of Wax. He’s not the same huge name he once was, but he’s definitely still around. Indeed, in 2013 he appeared in the critically acclaimed Fruitvale Station, and in 2014 he starred in Marvel’s Agent Carter series.

9. Jesse Metcalfe

Jesse Metcalfe was in three big things during the Noughties: daily drama Passions, the comedy-drama Desperate Housewives, and the teen flick John Tucker Must Die. Of the three, Desperate Housewives is probably what made him most recognizable, as it won him a Teen Choice Award in 2005. The spotlight’s dimmed on him a bit recently, but he’s still very good-looking.

8. Corbin Bleu

In 2006 Disney’s High School Musical was massive, and Corbin Bleu was one of its main stars. Unsurprisingly, Bleu became a teen heartthrob – he could sing, dance, act, and was good looking – the whole package. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he headed to Broadway as soon as the Noughties were over, to do shows like Godspell and In The Heights. He still does film work too, though.

7. Lil Bow Wow

Lil’ Bow Wow – another young rapper who had to drop the first word from his stage name – was popular throughout the Noughties for his songs and his movies. The 2002 movie Like Mike may have received mixed reviews, but kids loved it. And Bow Wow’s acting career continued past his teen heartthrob stage: he was in Entourage and CSI: Cyber more recently.

6. Josh Hartnett

Josh Hartnett first achieved fame in the ‘90s as a popular teen actor, and by the ‘00s he was walking the line between heartthrob status and serious acting. He fell down on the side of the latter, ending up in films like The Black Dahlia and Resurrecting the Champ. But he’s always been very careful about his career, and has said he never really wanted to be a full-on movie star.

5. The Jonas Brothers

Three teenage heartthrobs for the price of one! The Jonas Brothers were both music and Disney channel stars throughout the Noughties. Everyone loved Nick, Joe and Kevin, and gradually they made their way from wholesome pop trio to sex symbols. All of them are taken now, though: Kevin is married to hairstylist Danielle Deleasa, while Nick and Joe are engaged respectively to actresses Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Turner.

4. Taylor Lautner

The supernatural romance movie series, Twilight, was absolutely massive in the Noughties. One of the stars at its center was Taylor Lautner, who played Jacob. In fact, he actor’s impressive physique was considered to be one of the main things drawing fans to the flicks. Yet despite his reputation as a sex symbol making him famous, Lautner has said he never liked being objectified.

Zac Efron did very well out of being a teen idol. High School Musical made his name and established him as not only a talent, but also a big draw for young audiences. Success after success followed, often in the musical genre – he had starring roles in Hairspray and The Greatest Showman. These days, he’s pretty much an A-lister.

2. Justin Bieber

Many, many girls who grew up in the Noughties had a picture or two of Justin Bieber on their wall. First he was a wholesome, fluffy-haired guy who sang sweet songs and then he gradually became a headline-grabbing bad boy. Fans loved both, it seemed. Bieber is still huge, still making music, and still a darling of celebrity gossip websites.
