When Josh Peck And Drake Bell Caught Up On Camera, One Of The Stars Was In For A Staggering Surprise

They’re the stars of one of Nickelodeon’s most beloved sitcoms. So when Josh Peck and Drake Bell reunited on camera, fans had a big reason to get excited. And then, one of them revealed some life-changing news.

Peck was born on November 10, 1986 in New York City. He got his start as a series regular on The Amanda Show. It was there that he first worked with Bell, who had a main role on the show.

Bell was born in the Californian city of Newport Beach on June 27, 1986. He is also a musician and had minor roles in television and movies such as Jerry Maguire before getting his big break. Peck and Bell soon became best friends in real life and in 2003, they landed their own show.

Drake & Josh starred the two young actors as stepbrothers with extremely different personalities. While Drake was well-liked by his peers but juvenile, Josh struggled in social situations but was sensible and clever. The series became a huge success and the people that grew up watching it still cherish the show.

The sitcom ran from 2004 to 2007 and also produced two movies, 2008’s Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh and 2006’s Drake & Josh Go To Hollywood. The show remained extremely popular right up until it came to an end due to creative reasons.

Although the stars stayed friendly after the series finished, they seemed to have a very public falling-out in 2017. Peck had been dating film-editor Page O’Brien since November 2013. And in March 2016, the couple announced their engagement.

The couple married in Malibu, California on June 17, 2017. Among the guests was John Stamos, who starred with Peck in Grandfathered. However, Bell didn’t get an invite – and when he found out about the wedding, he took to social media to vent.

“When you’re not invited to the wedding the message is clear… Loyalty is key… ALWAYS remember where you came from,” Bell wrote in a series of since-deleted tweets. “True colors have come out today. Message is loud and clear. Ties are officially cut. I’ll miss you brotha.”

However, Bell soon admitted he regretted his words and there were “no hard feelings” between him and Peck, who suggested leaving his friend out of his wedding day was an oversight. The pair called an end to their feud by sharing a hug at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2017. And the next time there was an important milestone in Peck’s life, he made sure to include his former co-star.

As a result, on August 27, 2018, Peck posted a video to his YouTube channel. The clip showed the 31-year-old telling his closest friends something exciting: he and O’Brien are expecting their first child. And one of the people the New York native broke the news to on camera was Bell.

When Bell asked Peck what was going on, he replied, “Just having a baby.” The Californian responded with, “Dude, this is so wild. Are we that old? Dude, this is nuts.” He then said that his friend’s coming child should call him Uncle Drake.

“I’m going to have to teach him how to play guitar. This is so dope,” Bell added. And Peck admitted it made him nostalgic for their Nickelodeon days. “I feel like the audience right now,” he said. “When you said that, I was like, ‘Right in the childhood!’ Will you have a kid soon so they can be friends and then have their own T.V. show?”

Bell agreed that Peck’s idea was great, and the pair discussed how “weird” it is that one of them is about to become a father. The New Yorker added that he plans to teach his baby “What a big celebrity their dad is and how they’re going to have to live in that shadow.” Before they shared a hug, the California native said, “I’m so happy for you, man. That’s so cool.”

Peck also chatted to his Grandfathered co-star and close friend John Stamos on camera about the big news. “The truth is this: you are going to be the greatest father on the planet,” the Full House star said. “It’s going to be great. I’m really happy for you.”

The 55-year-old actor, who welcomed son, Billy, in April, added, “I am over the moon that you’re going to be a father. When we found out, we just started crying. I wish you would have got that on video. But I love you so much, Josh. I am so happy for you.”

Bell also shared an Instagram video to send his good wishes to Peck. “Just wanted to say congratulations on the baby, and if it’s a boy, it’s going to be Drake, right?” he said. The New Yorker agreed and asked his pal if he will be babysitting. And his co-star joked, “I don’t know, man. Last time I babysat, it ended up on a roof.”

In fact, that was a reference to an episode of Drake & Josh where the stepbrothers are left to babysit. But soon, the infant goes missing – and gets catapulted onto a roof. And after Peck posted his video to YouTube, it was viewed over 4.5 million times.

“Thanks to all our friends for being so incredibly sweet and for all the great advice, thanks to my beautiful wife for being the best baby oven, and thank YOU guys for watching,” Peck wrote. “Love you. I’m emotional, don’t mind me.”

Peck and O’Brien haven’t announced the gender of their child, but it’s clear they can’t wait to become parents. And his fans are not only thrilled by the news but also happy to see that he and Bell have made amends. Although they had drifted apart before the wedding snub and that social media outburst, the fight actually brought them closer.

Now, Bell says they will be friends for life. “We’re actually closer than we’ve been in a while,” he told Us Weekly magazine last year. “It’s totally great. It’s all love. We’re brothers, man.” And that’s the power of reproduction in action…
