Kristen Stewart Revealed She Could’ve Gone All The Way With Robert Pattinson – But This Stopped Her

When Twilight star Kristen Stewart talked to shock jock Howard Stern, she revealed some interesting things about her relationship with co-star Robert Pattinson. She shared with Stern just how deeply she had felt about Pattinson in their passionate love affair and how it all came crashing down when paparazzi photos asked questions about just how much she loved Pattinson.

Stewart and Pattinson had caused a sensation as the leads in the Twilight saga. Altogether the series of films has grossed more than $3 billion across the globe. When casting the film, director Elizabeth Hardwicke didn’t originally pick Pattinson for the role of Edward Cullen until she saw him audition alongside Stewart, who had already entranced her.

A real relationship grew between the two stars to match their on-screen romance. And Stewart told Stern all about it, according to British newspaper Metro in November 2019. She said, “We were together for years. That was my first [love]. I was super in love with my high-school boyfriend. Super, super… in love with him. But me and Rob were a little older, and it was just like, ‘Guh-gung!’ He’s the best. He’s the best.”

Dark clouds blew over their love affair, which had begun in 2009, however, when Stewart was snapped in a 2012 clinch with Rupert Sanders, director of Snow White and The Huntsman. She told Stern that that particular romance just hadn’t gone further than a kiss and a cuddle, though, although the furor did lead her to split from Pattinson. They reconciled, but the damage, it seems, was done, with the couple finally separating in 2013.

Stern was curious about the depth of Stewart’s feelings for Pattinson, and he asked whether she might have been tempted if Pattinson had popped the question. Stewart bashfully replied, “I don’t know. I’m not a super-duper traditionalist, but at the same time, every relationship I’ve ever been in, I thought that was it.” As if to prove her keenness on finding the “one,” Stewart is preparing at the time of writing to propose to her girlfriend of three months, Dylan Meyer.
