Kylie Jenner And Travis Scott Have Finally Dished The Details On Their Super-Private Romance

For all the perks that come with being famous, there are still some drawbacks, such as a lack of privacy. Kylie Jenner can certainly relate to that, as she did her best to keep her relationship with rapper Travis Scott quiet. However, in July 2018, the pair finally lifted the lid on their romance.

In the summer of 1997, Bruce and Kris Jenner had their second child together, with Kylie coming into the world on August 10. Alongside Kendall, her sister, she grew up in a large extended family as a result of her parents’ previous relationships. Indeed, among those half-siblings were the Kardashian children, following Kris’ first marriage.

With that in mind, Kylie’s life changed forever in October 2007, as reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians first aired on the E! network in America. Proving a smash-hit with audiences across the world, the series subsequently threw the Kardashian-Jenner siblings into the public spotlight.

Due to its incredible popularity, the show spawned several different spin-offs, most of which featured Kylie in some capacity. However, despite all of that, the 21-year-old still looked to make a name for herself outside of television. Indeed, much like her siblings, she focused on her own brand, which resulted in even more success.

In a joint sibling venture, the sisters launched the exclusive Kendall & Kylie clothing line in TopShop and PacSun stores. Kylie’s businesses didn’t end there, though. She also worked on a make-up brand and launched an app based on her life, both bearing her name. Both companies were successful, and, as a result, the entrepreneur was making huge amounts of money on her own.

Due to that success, and Kylie’s position as a reality TV star, she has an incredibly large social media following. The 21-year-old is, in fact, one of the most popular users on Instagram, boasting over 115 million followers. While that number is no doubt impressive, it still denotes, however, one of the drawbacks of being wealthy and famous.

Indeed, due to Kylie’s celebrity status, her romantic relationships were often cast under the public spotlight, resulting in little privacy. Throughout the years, the 21-year-old has dated the likes of Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber and musician Tyga, but her time with the latter drew some controversy. When the pair first got together in 2014, Kylie was just 16, some eight years younger than him.

In 2017, however, Kylie attempted to wrestle back some of her privacy when she met hip hop star Travis Scott. The duo’s growing relationship was kept fairly quiet, going against the grain of the celebrity’s previous romances. That all changed, though, in February of 2018, as the couple had their first child together.

Kylie and Travis became the proud parents of a daughter named Stormi Webster, taking their relationship to the next level. Despite all the attention that was subsequently lavished upon their child, however, details about their romance were still thin on the ground. In July 2018, though, those secrets were finally revealed.

GQ magazine unveiled Kylie and Travis as the cover stars for that month, securing their first-ever interview as a couple. With fans across the world craving some answers, the new mom, worth an estimated $900 million, spoke about the relationship in detail, highlighting their early time together.

While the couple’s first date came at the Coachella music festival, it was the second meeting that changed Kylie and Travis’ lives forever. “Coachella was one of the stops on his tour,” she told GQ in July 2018. “So, he said, ‘I’m going back on tour – what do we want to do about this?’ Because we obviously liked each other.”

“And I was like, ‘I guess I’m going with you,’” Kylie continued. “I really jumped on the bus. And then we rode off into the sunset. I did the whole tour with him.” On that note, the 21-year-old was asked what her family thought about her decision to go on the road, but she didn’t seem concerned.

“My whole family knows that I do whatever I’m going to do,” Kylie responded. “I’ve been that way my whole life. I don’t really answer to anybody. I live on my own, and so I just rode off into the sunset.” As a result, she spent a lot of time with Travis while traveling across the country, knowing they weren’t being watched.

“We would just go to these random cities,” Kylie said. “We got to not be who we really were. Like, if we were in Los Angeles, I feel like it would’ve been way different. Everything happened for a reason. We weren’t going out as ‘Kylie and Trav.’ We would just be in Cleveland, walking the street for hours.”

With the pair wishing to keep their romance quiet, they then devised a plan to maintain that status. Not only that, but Travis also needed to find a way to handle the fame surrounding his partner. “I don’t think he’s really cool with it,” Kylie reflected. “But he deals with it, because we love each other and we have a family.”

“For sure, I know [Scott] doesn’t like the attention,” Kylie continued. “That’s why we just go the extra mile to keep our relationship super-private, or like, if he has events or something, I won’t come. I don’t want it to be Kylie and Trav. If people don’t ever see us together, that’s okay with me, because we just do our thing.”

While the pair might spend some time apart, though, they were together for the birth of Stormi back in February. Travis even kept Kylie company in the delivery room. “Hell yeah!” he recalled to GQ. “It was crazy. I was there through the hell. The epidural and s***. Crazy.”

Following the release of GQ’s July issue, Kylie and Travis then found themselves under-fire from a number of social media users. The anger wasn’t directed at the content of their interview, though. Instead, the backlash was focused on the magazine’s photo-shoot, with people picking up on the similarities to some older pictures.

Indeed, back in the ‘60s and ‘70s some iconic photos were taken of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, one of the more famous couples from that period. Decades later, Kylie and Travis’ GQ shoot mirrored those images, causing a fierce debate across the internet. However, the magazine quickly confirmed that the pair were deliberately paying tribute to the famous pictures.

Controversy aside, though, Kylie and Travis appear to be maintaining the privacy they so desperately seek. While both are incredibly active on Instagram, they don’t often share pictures of themselves together, instead focusing on their lives as individuals. As the 21-year-old previously said, “We just do our thing.”
