“Don’t date a coworker!” That’s what people say – but it’s advice that many choose to ignore. In the movie industry, however, it’s often a temptation. Those in the biz can spend months far from home with no one to lean on but their gorgeous co-stars – or that handsome older director. In fact, actors and directors are no strangers to the lure of the on-set hookup. And whether such trysts are fueled by the power of the director, the glamor of the actor, the close working relationship, or simply a calculated move to gain publicity for the film (perish the thought), the action behind the scenes is sometimes more interesting than the movie itself.
10. Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders – Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
Actress Kristen Stewart is most famous for playing the character of Bella in the Twilight movies. And before their recent breakup, Stewart and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson’s relationship status was a constant focus for gossip hounds and tabloids. As it turns out, they were an item, but the relationship wasn’t confirmed until July 2012, when Us Weekly revealed that Stewart was indeed dating Pattinson – but also cheating on him with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
Unlike in most fairytales, there was no happy ending to the story. Stewart was quick to issue a public apology for the indiscretion, but she and Pattinson still parted ways in May 2013. Six months after the affair, Sanders’ wife Liberty Ross, who also starred in the movie, filed for divorce.
