20. Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler
German manufacturing giant Schaeffler Group has gone from strength to strength since Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler took the helm from her late husband in 1996. Her savvy moves as its co-owner include acquiring auto manufacturing company Continental AG and diversifying into the aerospace industry – moves, perhaps, which have led to the company recording revenue of $10.6 billion in the first nine months of 2015 alone. And Schaeffler herself is flush as well, to the tune of a cool $6.6 billion.
