Environmentalists? Exhibitionists? A bit of both, perhaps. Over fifty cities will be participating in a naked bike ride, which will take place in June as a protest against our oil dependency.

The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is asking everyone interested in the subject to sign up at and if there isn’t a ride organised in your town or city, start one yourself!

WNBR said: “We’ll all be there to ride with you in celebration of your body’s strength and individuality. People of all ages, sizes, builds and appearances ride on World Naked Bike Ride. At the ride, you’ll be treated with dignity and respect no matter what your body looks like.

“One of the amazing impacts of this ride is to show the world how varied real bodies can be; unlike the airbrushed images that flood the media and cause so much insecurity.”

Although many people will be stripping to their birthday suits, full nudity is not compulsory. “As bare as you dare” is their slogan and if you can ride topless, in a swim suit or in your undies you’ll still be contributing to the WNBR cause.
