We all secretly want our lives to look like they’re straight out of a Pinterest board. Shabby chic home, stylish clothes… but the illusion is totally shattered with the arrival of messy, noisy babies. Yes, these little tots really don’t give one damn about your Pinterest goals. And here are the photos to prove it.

Take this baby for example. He couldn’t care less about your Pinterest-worthy life. In fact, if you try to make him lie artistically atop a tiny truck, the only pose he’ll strike is that of a beached whale.

A beautiful black and white image of an adorable baby being kissed on both cheeks by mom and dad: it’s a classic. But after this unfortunate imitation, mom Taya concluded: “Clearly, our child is not as enamored as theirs.”

Asking three kids to dress up in cute clothes and pose for ages while holding a sign that reads “JOY?” Well, that’s just a recipe for irony. But the resulting photo is hilarious.

So much about this photography attempt is just wrong – where are the little pink pants and flowery head band, for example? This baby didn’t stand a chance. This pic is still kinda cute, though, you have to admit.

Jillian, one of the moms behind this monstrosity, said, “All we ended up with was two cranky babies and the realization that it’s nearly impossible to get a picture with one baby smiling at the camera, let alone both of them – maybe next year.” Yeah… maybe not.

A baby stuffed into a tiny hammock – is that even allowed? It doesn’t look at all comfortable, or safe. And it’s probably not worth your Pinterest goals.

What’s going on here? Oh right, we get it: baby in a box, an adorable little package delivered by post. No, that doesn’t make it any less weird.

An artful black and white shot of your young daughter imitating your pregnancy? It just makes no sense. And clearly this little girl thought the same.

The shimmery gloss of Pinterest might initially conceal the horror of what it would actually be like to sit inside a pumpkin – but the second baby’s face conveys it perfectly. Cold, bumpy and slimy, basically.

We totally agree with baby number two – the idea of being trapped inside a cage with a bunch of balloons is genuinely terrifying. So what’s baby number one so happy about?

A festive holiday card featuring your smiling cherub takes a lot more effort than just throwing a bunch of tree baubles on a bed and dumping your kid in among them. Pinterest would not be proud.

Hmm… something tells us the photographer of that second picture didn’t exactly have Pinterest boards in mind when they took the photo. Though it is a much more accurate take on the trope “baby sleeping on parent.”

Presumably, the trick is to wait until your baby is asleep before noiselessly arranging some oversized glasses on its face and gently propping him on a pile of books. A lesson which the second family learned the hard way.

This photoshoot is just incomprehensibly random. Is there supposed to be some kind of hidden creative concept here? Why else would a baby be sitting in a massive bowl of Cheerios? Pinterest fail.

Some evil parents have shoved their poor baby in a basket and proceeded to attack him with giant Kinder Eggs. In fact, the innocent little victim is actually having to shield his face with his tiny limbs. Classic family lols.

On paper (or Pinterest board) it might seem like a good idea to repurpose your old jeans and make a super cool denim swing for your kid. But you might want to take a few quick measurements – or he’ll just end up drowning in denim.

Obviously the goal with this Pinterest creation is to make it look like your little darlings are being swept away adorably by a bunch of balloons. Unfortunately, however, this reenactment actually makes it look as though the boys have fallen onto the sidewalk. Ouch.

What kind of super dad is able to just naturally juggle four of his kids in his arms at the same time without tears or injury? Only a fake Pinterest dad is capable of such sorcery.

We can probably all agree that the recreation of this photo is way better than the original. In fact, this second baby has totally nailed the elusive “grumpy snowman” look – and should front the family Christmas card for years to come.
